What we're great at

We provide a mobile holistic or strategic financial advice service with the expertise to help integrate each solution into your bigger picture. Below is a brief summary of what we can help you with.

But before we go there, how do we define the difference between holistic and strategic advice?

Holistic Advice looks at how multiple issues all fit together

  • Holistic Advice looks at the bigger picture and helps you see how to integrate all your different financial, investment and protection needs together. An example could be you want to 'Retire in 20 years as a debt free millionaire using different ethical investment strategies'.

Strategic Advice looks at more individual issues

  • Strategic Advice looks at a very specific risk or issue and just focuses on what you want to do with that particular issue. An example could be you 'Simply want $1,000,000 of the lowest cost life insurance available'.

The short list of everything we work with

Some of the typical skills used in creating strategies that solve our client's problems include;

Mortgages and Debt Consolidation

Are you a first home buyer just starting out? That's a perfect time to start a relationship with a financial adviser and get your mortgage sorted. If you're wanting to refinance your current mortgage and consolidate some debts, always get financial advice first just to make sure it's a good idea.

Our clients are usually doing something like;

  • Getting interested in buying an investment property
  • Needing to refinance to a better rate and consolidate credit card debts
  • Looking at buying property with family members or multiple friends and need a joint mortgage with guarantor protection
  • Looking to build a dream house with a licensed builder, using their home as security for an investment or a combination of the two; we can help you there as well.
  • And if you have an SMSF and need to arrange some limited recourse borrowing (and actually understand what the nuances are) we'd love to help you out

Our Mortgage Service includes Variable rate, Fixed rate or a Combination of both, Alternative Documented Mortgages (for the self employed), 100% Offset Accounts, SMSF Lending and Speciality Wholesale Mortgages for property investors.

Personal Risk Protection

Personal Risk Protection

Personal insurance is designed to protect the most important asset of all - you and your family. Too often families overlook personal insurance despite insuring their car, their home and even their pets.

Life rarely happens as planned, so we all need to protect ourselves, our loved ones and even our business partners from life's unexpected risks.

  • Whether you're starting out and just need to protect your income, or
  • Whether you now have some additional responsibilities in your life and need to protect your family or yourself from the major medical crisis, we can help you there too.
  • If you have a growing family, perhaps a business, or perhaps life and family structures are now kind of complicated, we're more than comfortable working alongside you to bring order and the peace of mind that comes with having your affairs sorted.

We use powerful research software that helps us compare the features of every personal insurance product available and with our 18+ years of expertise and experience, we can then select and tailor a solution that is right for you and your family.

So whether you're looking for life insurance, total and permanent disability (TPD), income protection or critical illness insurance, we can tailor insurance options that will help protect you and your family's future.

Self Employed Professionals

If you're self-employed or run a small to medium enterprise (SME) we can provide a range of more specialised services to make sure the time and money you invested in the business, can continue to function even if you can’t due to sickness or injury.

We understand how these issues can affect an individual and their family and can help you safeguard what’s most important.

Small Business Protection

Small Business Protection

The biggest risks in business are 'people risks' so we're written a Free Guide to Managing Business People Risks. Whether you're a Tradie, whether you own a Practice, work by yourself or with others; protecting what you cannot afford to lose is a key part of running a small to medium business (SME).

We've been helping self-employed clients and their families for over 18 years.  We understand and support Australian small business (because we're a small business too) and write for  Small Business online resources.

Investment Property

Investment Property

For over 18 years Sapience has been researching, supplying and giving sound advice to private clients investing in property. Help take the emotion out of buying an investment property and protect yourself from emotionally charged investment seminars (that are just developer sponsored sales events if you're honest).

Find out if investing in property is right for your particular circumstances and speak with a Sapience Financial Adviser. Investing in direct real estate may be a strategy worth considering.

Managed Funds

Investing with Managed Funds

Trying to get ahead in life just by using a savings account can be like trying to 'save your way out of the poor house'. It's probably not going to work that well.

  • If inflation is 3.5% and the bank is paying you 4% on your savings account, you're just half a percent in front of inflation.
  • If the housing market is growing at 5-10% a year, property prices are probably increasing faster than your ability to save a deposit to buy one.

So Investing with managed funds may be a strategy worth considering.

Every working Australian is already an investor but they may not know it. Compulsory superannuation funds are normally invested in managed funds but their returns are usually locked away until retirement age.

  • Pro Tip: If you're young and starting out, be careful of the one trick pony adviser who insists that superannuation alone is the only way to get ahead financially. Waiting forty years before you can access your super is a long time: and a lot can change over that period.

If you're a little older and closer to retirement superannuation may play a useful part of your overall plan.

What? Don't you have a plan? (*gasp*) We can help you with that too. For those with your own SMSF, use our expertise to help you make more informed choices.

Self Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSF)

Self Managed Super Funds (SMSF)

When a Trustee of a Self Managed Superannuation Fund acquires a property as part of the investment strategy of the fund, an associated bank or funder may require a Certificate of Financial Advice as part of the required documents to complete the loan.

If you are purchasing a property in an SMSF or a Unit Trust and require a Certificate of Financial Advice by your incoming funder or investment partners we can provide Certificates of Financial Advice and Statements of Financial Advice as needed by most funders.

Estate Planning

Finally sorted is the modern estate planning arm of Sapience

Modern Estate Planning

Estate planning is about getting your Plan B sorted, and we all need a backup plan and so do the people who depend upon us. It helps you today, tomorrow and later on in case you get sick, injured or even pass away unexpectedly.

Estate planning is the process of arranging your personal, family and business affairs to ensure that there is an efficient and tax effective way to distribute your wealth should you pass away.

One of the key parts of modern estate planning is identifying who get's what and when as well as who should not get what and why. This may be straightforward or more complex for those with blended families.

Either way, we have a complete and mobile solution available for you. (If you're a Tradie or a Small Business Owner, modern estate planning is even more important for you to get sorted today).

Additional Needs Insurance and Planning

Additional Needs Insurance and Special Needs Planning

We all know of someone caring for a relative, a friend or a close family member who needs special care. Sometimes children have obvious additional needs early on whilst others develop these as they progress through life.

  • Whether you have additional needs children, adults or you are concerned about your aging parents, there are special insurance needs that need to be considered.
  • We believe protecting the carer and their ability to continue to care is key to ensuring that should something unforeseen occur to them, that their wishes and their care can continue to be provided.
